Retailers on a tech spending spree as they innovate in the face of challenges

Technology will decide which stores live or die in the new world of retail.
That is the message retailers are hearing loud and clear as they meet in New York City this week for their industry’s biggest trade show.
From artificial intelligence apps to store cameras with computer vision, and dozens of other innovations that promise to make their stores easier to shop, technology dominated the three-day National Retail Federation show at the Javits Convention Center.
