University gets Nutanix for self-serve cloud to replace Red Hat

The University of Reading replaces aging and difficult-to-manage Red Hat storage with half a petabyte of Nutanix hyper-converged and dodges £1/2 million of VMware costs.

 

The University of Reading has consolidated numerous legacy storage systems onto Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure, with around 600TB of storage capacity and cloud-style self-service operations for its in-house customers.
