Jake Cohen

Advisor

Jake Cohen is an advisor at Blumberg Capital focused on forging strategic relationships with global universities and, in particular, the Boston innovation ecosystem.

Jake started his academic career at Harvard Business School with a front row seat during the dot.com bubble, and subsequent burst, writing case studies about technology startups and teaching financial reporting to MBA and executive educations students.

He later joined the faculty at INSEAD and served as the faculty director of the PwC-INSEAD research initiative on high performing organizations, and funded the Blue Ocean Strategy academic work.

In 2008,  he was promoted to Dean of the MBA Programs, overseeing campuses in France, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi and alliances with Wharton and Kellogg.

In 2011, Jake was recruited to the MIT Sloan School of Management to serve as Senior Associate Dean, overseeing Sloan’s portfolio of degree programs.

In 2023, after also serving as interim CEO, President, and Dean of the Asia School of Business, MIT Sloan largest global affiliate, he was promoted to Senior Associate Dean with oversight responsibilities of Sloan’s strategic global partnerships.

Jake is a curious, self-learner, fascinated by technology inventions and innovations like AI, alternative energy, cybersecurity, digital health, quantum technologies, and other cutting-edge advancements. He also served on the Board of Directors, as Chair of the Audit Committee, of a cryptocurrency SPAC.

Jake graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Accounting and earned MS and JD degrees from Syracuse University.
