By David Blumberg, managing partner and Jared Katzen, senior associate

Congratulations to our portfolio company SupplyPike, the leader in AI-powered invoice deduction optimization solutions for CPG vendors, on its acquisition by SPS Commerce (Nasdaq: SPSC), the leader in EDI and retail supply chain data services. Blumberg Capital is proud to have been part of SupplyPike’s journey from inception to exit. Today, more than 500 leading CPG brands such as Bissel, Crayola, Dr. Pepper, Hanes, Johnson & Johnson and Simmons rely on SupplyPike to save time and money by minimizing invalid deductions by retailers. Major retailers supported by the SupplyPike solution include Walmart, Target, Amazon, Kroger, Home Depot and CVS.

The merger with SPS Commerce is one more milestone toward the goal of helping CPG vendors manage their supply chain logistics in an efficient and cost-effective manner. More than 120,000 companies in retail, distribution, grocery and e-commerce that have chosen SPS as their retail data network can now automatically dispute invoice deductions through SupplyPike’s AI-powered technology.

SupplyPike’s acquisition marks Blumberg Capital’s second successful exit with founder Dan Sanker. Blumberg Capital’s partnership with Dan started with CaseStack, a Blumberg Capital portfolio company that was sold to HUB Group (Nasdaq: HUBG). Following the acquisition, SupplyPike was carved out as a standalone company in 2018. In just six years, Dan and team transformed latent back-office technology into the leading invoice management platform in the supply chain and retail space. From the earliest days, we had the privilege of making customer introductions, building the leadership team, fundraising and supporting strategic initiatives instrumental to scaling the business.

It’s been a rewarding partnership with the SupplyPike team and our co-investors – all working together to make supply chain operations more efficient, intelligent and effective.
